Bland Shire Council is responsible for the planning and control of development within the Shire. Planning for the ruture development of the Bland Shire requires Council's Environment, Planning and Development Services staff to be proactive in ensuring that the infrastructure necessary to accommodate development is provided, whilst at the same time implementing appropriate development control and heritage management strategies to maintain the Shire's build heritage. Bland Shire is a progressive Shire that is currently experiencing a sustained period of economic and population growth due to recent investments in our Shire in the mining and agribusiness industries. Council actively encourages diverse and innovative development within the Shire through its Business Development Policy incentives. It is the role of Council's Economic Development Officer to idetify and respond to potential business development opportunities, as well as assist existing businesses within the Shire to grow and develop their services.
